TIDEP-01017: MMWCAS-DSP-EVM 5V test point only reading 1.4V

We recently bought a MMWCAS-DSP-EVM & MMWCAS-RF-EVM combination.

When we connected the boards and powered them on, only the Input

12V Power Indicator LED came on and the MMWCAS-DSP-EVM board was

unresponsive through the serial port.

 

The 5V test point (SYSTEM_5V0, TP41/TP43) is only reading 1.4V.

 

The behaviour is the same with and without the MMWCAS-RF-EVM connected.

We use a Bicker BET-0612 12V/5A power supply.

    Thank you for posting this, a few questions to start.

    Has the board ever been functional?

    Also are there any other discrepancies you are observing besides the test point? Any further information you can provide will be helpful.

    The board has never been functional.

    The 12V test point (SYSTEM_12V, TP28/TP29) is reading 12V.

    The 3.3V test point (SYSTEM_3V3, TP35/TP37) is reading 3.3V.

    All Power Good LEDs are off.

    The board is unresponsive through the serial port.

    How can we get a working board and when?
    We are under time pressure

    Hi Edit,

    While we cannot diagnose the cause of failure, it appears you received a defective board. I approve this for replacement. Please get in contact with TI Sales Support in order to obtain a replacement.

    Let me know if you need more information, approval, or assistance on our end.
