TMS320C54CST: G729 support

Hello,

As I checked, Texas has obsolete DSPs with G729 VOIP Codec support, such as TNETV2520 chip (729 is explicitly mentioned in datasheet). but new products support G726, but not G729 (TMS320C54CST processor, or a couple of TLV320 external codecs). I am curious to know why G729 is not supported any more by TI? Of course I know we always can have software Codecs, I talk about hardware codes.

    Hi, 

    Both TNETV2520 and TMS320C54CST are very old devices. I don't know the history why G729 is not supported,  We don't have any resource or collateral beyond what you see in the product folder. You may search the E2E forum for archived posts of previous discussions which may help address your questions. For more info on TMS320C54x support, please see the FAQ in
