TMDSCM572X: Video output format of the TMDSCM572X

Part Number: TMDSCM572X
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TMDSEVM572X,

Hi,

I would like to evaluate the video inputs using TMDSEVM572X and TMDSCM572X.
Can the TMDSCM572X output raw data (RGB888) and capture with TMDSEVM572X?

Best Regards,
H.U

  • Hello H.U

I don't quite understand the topology you're describing.  Are you asking can two EVMs be connected?  Or can the processor's VOUT interfaces loop back to the VIN interfaces?  A block diagram will help.

    Thanks,

    Kyle

  • Hi kyle,

I would change the way I ask the above question.

What is the default output video format for the camera module (TMDSCM572X)?
Is it possible to change the output video format of the camera module (TMDSCM572X) to RGB888?
Can  TMDSEVM572X capture the RGB888 video format output from this camera module?

    Best Regards,
    H.U

  • The camera module supports the OV10635 sensor.  The sensor is capable of supporting both YUV (8 or 10bit) and RAW (10 to 18bit) data output formats.  However, the camera board design supports only 8b of data (D7-D0), so D8 and D9 connections from camera are not available.  I'm not clear on what (if any) this limits the formats supported from camera.  I do not find documentation shown if all the different data formats/widths are supported on the narrow bus (8b).
