Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TMS320C5535
Tool/software: Code Composer Studio
Hi,
I just got my TMDX5535EZDSP kit, the CD that came with it is labeled CCS v4.2.4.
First question I have - since I am already using CCS 10.1.1.00004, should I bother,
I mean is there any benefit to installing this much older version? Thinking probably
that may not be necessary and since I have the CCS already installed. Thought I'll
try what's possible - so looking around found C5500 compiler and DSP/BIOS v5 in
CCS App Center.
While the C5500 complier installation worked well. DSP/BIOS v5 download (within
App Center) kept failing; so I downloaded, installed DSP/BIOS directly from here -
https://software-dl-1.ti.com/dsps/dsps_public_sw/sdo_sb/targetcontent/bios/dspbios/
And it does get discovered in CCS (as seen below) - I can't seem to get it to install.
So the next couple of questions -
1) Am I doing this (DSP/BIOS installation) right?
2) "DSP/BIOS is recommended for CC5500 devices as well as existing C6000 projects.
New projects should use TI-RTOS." Right below this message, there's 'Read More'
link, but just like DSP/BIOS download (the one from App Center), this link too fails to
launch. Which makes me think - is DSP/BIOS no longer supported - do I need some
other framework/stack layer like TI-RTOS (as the note says) instead?
Also, another side question - where do I find the latest Getting started guide, examples
etc. for TMDX5535EZDSP?
Please advise.
