ADS1605 and TMS320C6000 family

Dear All,

I will start to design a new board requiring an ADC, in this case ADS1605, 16bits, 5Msps. In the application Information chapter of the datasheet of this converter,  "Interfacing ADS1605 to the TMS320C6000", pag 28,  just describe how to control the ADC with this family of DSPs. I would like to follow this application information.

I am new with TMS320C6000. The only requirement that I need from this DSP is that be able to read from the ADC and also a 10/100 Ethernet port.

Can you recomend me a item of the TMS320C6000 family to do this job? Where do I start? Is there any Evaluation kit? tutorial?

    Hi Joaquin

    Unfortunately there is no hardware or software to get you started on this. This will be a grounds up development if you wanted to use this ADC with recent C6000 devices.

    It will be via the EMIFA interface on a C6748 device, but again you will need to build the boards and develop the software based on ADS1605 documentation. 

    The ADS1605  seems like an old device, and the reference to the c6000 Device is C6713 DSP ,which is a very popular legacy device in C6000 portfolio. 

    The device and its EVM is still available , but there is very limited support for this and the software has not been updated in a long time. 

    If you search c6713 and ADS1605, you may find links and code snippets like below

    Unfortunately I do not have more to offer in terms of collateral and support. 

    You can additionally check with the data converters forum to see if they have alternate suggestions for you.
