Hello sir,

We are using Linux_V_4.14.67 for AM335x microprocessor based device. We want to incorporate DP83869 PHY to AM335X microprocessor. But couldn't find the native support of DP83869 PHY driver in this version. Please let us know whether it is possible to integrate the DP83869 PHY driver module in Linux_V_4.14.67 version or not. If it is compatible, please share the details for integrating the driver.

Hello Smrithy,

Our Linux Processor SDK 5.1 uses Linux 4.14.67. There is no mention of DP83869 in Linux SDK 5.1, or in the latest Linux SDK 6.3. However, the Linux driver for DP83869 is on the PHY's product page: the software development section has a link to Ethernet PHY Linux drivers and tools. You can find the DP83869 driver there.

Post DP83869 supports the Linux driver contains some patches that show how to adjust the Kconfig, Makefile, etc to integrate the driver into Linux. I am going to reassign your thread to the PHY team in case they have additional commentary.
