AMIC110: Available memory size for user application in DDR-less EtherCAT

Part Number: AMIC110
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TIDEP-0105

Hi,

My customer is interested in DDR-less EtherCAT slave on AMIC110 (TIDEP-0105)
It seems a lot of efforts in optimization were done to put all codes inside memory.

How much memory is available for customer application?
My customer wants to use USB Bulk (device) transfer with EtherCAT.
Is this feasible without DDR or not?

Thanks and regards,
Koichiro Tashiro

  • Hi
    Sorry for the late response.

Attached is the overview of memory usage of Ethercat Slave applications on AMIC11x in release mode. You need to check if USB related can be fit in the un-used sections to keep the whole application DDR-less.

Please note that the memory section from Cortex-M3 is included because it was unused. M3 is reserved for PM, hence it was reserved but in use-cases which does not need PM, you can use resources like memory from application.
