OMAP-L138: OMAP-L138: Marvell Link Street 88E6352

Part Number: OMAP-L138

I am looking for Marvell Link Street 88E6352 driver.

  • I assume you ask the driver for Linux? If so, it is in the kernel drivers/net/dsa/ folder.

  • I work with Pichet Ong at ClearOne. We have changed our hardware to use the Marvell Link Street 88E6352 part. But, our version of UBL "U-Boot 2010.12-00000-gadf5366 (Jul 20 2016 - 16:29:05)" does not support the Marvell part. We received our UBL originally from TI. We do not currently have a support agreement with TI. Can you help us understand if TI can provide us with a new UBL that does support the Marvell part mentioned? Please help us understand if it is available or can be provided.

    Thanks,

    Mark Stolp

  • We have the following version of UBL which was provided by TI:

    U-Boot 2010.12-00000-gadf5366 (Jul 20 2016 - 16:29:05)

The problem is that we’ve changed our hardware to use the Marvell Link Street 88E6352 part . The version of UBL does not support the Marvell part. We need to know if TI can help us. We do not have a current support package with TI. We need to know if there is a UBL version that does support the Marvel part mentioned.

  • Hi Mark and Pichet,

TI takes the U-Boot from the community and adds the entitlement for TI processors, so we are not aware of the support for other vendor's devices in U-Boot. Do you know if any version of the community U-Boot supports 88E6352?

  • I noticed that there is some driver code called mv88e6xxx.c already in the source code that I have that most likely handles the 88E6352. It's under the Linux directory rather than UBL or U-BOOT. The question is do I need to make some modification to the UBL code to force it to be used to communicate with the Marvell part? Can you point us to some Linux forum where we can get some help?

    Thanks,

    Mark

  • Hi Mark,

U-Boot and Linux kernel are two different software which don't run at the same time, so you cannot run the Linux 88E66352 driver in U-Boot. If you want to use 88E6532 in U-Boot, you have to ensure U-Boot has its device driver (which we don't know, since this is not a device from TI).

If you have questions about U-Boot, you can ask the U-Boot community (mailing list), https://www.denx.de/wiki/U-Boot/Contacts
