Part Number: TMDSDSK6416

I am trying to use DSP/BIOS on TMSDSK6416 with CCS compiler version v6.1.3. I have installed the following products:

1) DSP/BIOS version v6

2) xdcTools version 3.3

3) SYS/BIOS version 6.46

I am added the environment variables and the path as stated in the setup guide of DSP/BIOS.

I am encountering an issue regarding accessing the implicit DSP/BIOS instrumentation tools for instance, CPUload graph, Execution graph etc. The tools aren't showing on the file handling tab. Whenever I access the analysis tools, an error occurs regarding the valid UIA configuration file. I am attaching the screeenshot of the error. My question is that, is the issue regarding the compatibility of the DSP/BIOS version with the compiler version? Or is the CCS not discovering the installed tools?

Currently, I am executing DSP/BIOS examples and would like to analyse the results.

Hello Waseem,

Could you confirm the part number of the processor you are using? This is a very old EVM that we cannot support on the forums any more. I am going to send your question to the CCS team just in case, but they may not be able to provide any help.

There is no such version. The last version of DSP/BIOS was v5.42.

I assume you are using DSP/BIOS and not SYS/BIOS since SYS/BIOS does not support C6416.

Note that DSP/BIOS RTA support (CPU Load, Exeuction Graph, etc) was discontinued after CCSv5.5. And even in versions of CCS that had it, it was stop-mode support after CCSv4. CCSv3.3 was the last version to have true DSP/BIOS RTA real-time support.

UIA and related tools apply to SYS/BIOS and not DSP/BIOS.

I am using TMS320C6416TCLZ on the DSK6416 EVM.

I apologise, I mistakenly wrote DSP/BIOS v6. I meant that I am using the CCS v6.1.3 and DSP/BIOS v5.42.

Yes, I am using DSP/BIOS not SYS/BIOS.

So, if I want to analyse my algorithm through Execution graph and CPU load, I should use the CCS v3.3 and DSP/BIOS v5.42?

This will give you true "real-time" DSP/BIOS RTA support.

If you are ok with "stop-mode" RTA support, then you can use CCSv5.5.

Regardless, both versions are very old and unsupported (in addition to DSP/BIOS being unsupported).
