Sorry! I do not have any benchmark data to comment on what is causing slow down.

Do you have any benchmark data with you, that I can present to internal team to discuss possible paths?

1. Like how are you measuring the throughput? Is it with Ping?

2. Is it possible for you to put instrumentation code under NDK, rebuild and get the benchmark data?

3. Is it possible for you to instrument the EMAC LLD and see if there is something causing the slowdown?

To start with you can add instrumentation code for the send and receive under emac lld 

benchmark:

emac_send() function under ti/drv/emac/src/v0/emac_drv.c file

and

EMAC_RxServiceCheck() under emac/src/v0/emac.c file?

You can use TSCL register to get the CPU cycles. Please note that you would need to write 0 to TSCL register to start counting.

1. Not Ping. The throughput is measured by continuously sending data from a buffer. The receiver is a PC.

Before adding instrumentation code, we would like to know if it is possible to work in ICSS mode with the TMS320C6745. Now we are using the Evaluation Board OMAP-L137 and, according to its SDK online manual (4.10.2.5.1) there are NDK examples using PRU-ICSS interface at:

But this folder does not exist.

Can you advise the procedure to work in ICSS mode?

Hi Antonio,

Sorry! There is no ICSS IP present in OMAPL137. Hence you do not see the example.

Please indicate if I'm wrong, but I think that the ICSS mode is performed by using the PRU Subsystem. It's not like that?

I know that this is a general guide for many processors, but I searched it from the download page of:

In any case, our intention for using the ICSS mode is based on the assumption that it is more efficient than CPSW mode. Is it?

Hi Antonio,

The PRU under omapl13x is different from the PRU-ICSS in other devices.  Like you mentioned, the guide is general guide and covers for other devices as well.

There  is no PRU-ICSS support on this device.

Also, you may be able to refer to below unmaintained PRU software for omapl13x, no support, just provided as-is.
