AM5728: Using single bank DDR3 for h.264 encoding/decoding

Part Number: AM5728
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TMDSEVM572X, TVP5146M2

Hello

We are designing a custom board based on TMDSEVM572X but we have some space constraints and we want to use just one of DDR3 banks of the processor.

Our application is to get 1080p60 video from VIP port and encode it to h.264 Or to get SD video of TVP5146M2 from VIP port and encode it to h.264 and then send it over network with udp protocol. We use gstreamer software to do that.

Given the above application, the question is whether the memory capacity of 1 Gigabyte and its single bank bandwidth is sufficient or not?

Regards,
