TMDSOSKL137: TMDSOSKL137 – OMAP-L137/TMS320C6747 Starter Kit connection to TIDA-01454

Part Number: TMDSOSKL137
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TIDEP-0099, , TMS320C6747, OMAP-L137, OMAPL138, 66AK2G12, CC3200

Hi team,

Our I&D project requires audio input, DSP processing and LAN interface as is shown in the attachment. Please can you answer to the questions that I put in this attachment about the TI parts more appropriate to build this system. TIDEP-0099 is a good core using the TMDSOSKL137 OMAP-L137/TMS320C6747 Floating Point Starter Kit?
Best regards,
  • Hi,

The only review we offer is a schematic review. This does not appear like one.

    Can you please provide details?

    Thanks

  • Hello Zhonghui,

To clarify: TI does not do system design for customers. However, we can provide feedback on whether specific parts are a good fit for specific applications. Is this a good way to restate your question?

"We need a processor that has audio input/output, DSP processing, and a LAN interface. Is OMAP-L137 a good potential fit? Are there other TI processors that you would suggest for this application?"

What are you trying to do over LAN? for example, generic Ethernet? Are you looking to implement a specific networking protocol? Are you dealing with multiple audio streams?

    Regards,

    Nick

  • Hi Zhonghui,

Are you looking for just a DSP for this processing or do you also have requirement for a host ARM processor. If you need low power ARM9 + DSP integrated solution then we recommend that you look at OMAPL138 device which is supported with latest Linux and RTOS software.  For higher performance, you can also look at 66AK2G12 which has Cortex A15+DSP integration.

If the network connectivity to the cloud is through wired connection, these devices also have integrated Ethernet support but if you are looking for an external MCU with wireless support then you can look at our connectivity MCU products like CC3200 for connecting to cloud using wireless network.

If you are looking for voice processing blocks like Acoustic echo cancellation or voice activation then there are several TI 3P partners that provide solution for TI DSP and ARM platforms. ADT, Sensory and DSPConcepts currently support voice solutions on TI DSP platforms.

    Hope this helps.

    Regards,

    Rahul
