DSP evaluation kit to work with Raspberry pi for real time signal processing

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TMS320F280025C, LAUNCHXL-F280025C, TMDSCNCD280025C

I am after a DSP evaluation kit to work with Raspberry pi for real time signal processing (digital octave filtering, FFT etc). The input signals are from different sensors including a hydrophone. It would be good if the kit has multiple channel ADC ( 1MSps), I/O pins both digital and analog. I have looked at TMD SLCDK 6748 but not sure if I have shortlisted it correctly and would appreciate support in selecting the right DSP kit.

  • EngrN,

It sounds like the just about the entire C2000 portfolio will meet your needs. www.ti.com/c2000

So that being said one of our latest release was a low cost offering: TMS320F280025C is the superset device. Looking through the Datasheet and TRM should help you decide if its right for you.

    • Capable of FFT/ filtering
    • 39 GPIO (digital)
    • Two 3.45 MSPS ADCs
      • 16 individual analog channels

The extra MSPS would allow for an oversampling scheme which can reduce system noise.
Please note that the quantities above are for the superset 80-pin device. If you need a smaller pin count device there are 64 and 48-pin devices.

There are a couple of EVMs which support the F28002x family, TMDSCNCD280025C and LaunchXL-F280025C would get you off and prototyping now no matter what package you choose.

    Regards,
    Cody
