Other Parts Discussed in Thread: ADS8556, ADS8361EVM, DAC8831EVM

Hi,

I planned to plug in an ADS8556 EVM    AND  a DAC7741EVM     TOGETHER  onto a 5-6K interface board, which was to be connected to a C6713 DSK. Since both the EVMs are parallel  they did NOT fit on the 5-6K TOGETHER , but sadly I found this out only after unpacking the boxes :(

Now, I have selected again two serial SPI EVMs, the  ADS8361EVM  and DAC8831EVM. I want to put them  TOGETHER on a 5-6K interface board. I will also plug in at the same time two DAP Signal conditioning boards one unipolar and one bipolar.

I have checked, googled asked around and THINK all these four will fit TOGETHER on a 5-6K board.  If I am wrong can any one PLEASE tell me so before I order again.

Any response will be HIGHLY appreciated!!!

  • I don't have those particular EVMs, but generally speaking if the serial EVMs are of a physical size such that two of them can fit on the 5-6K interface, then it is okay to use them both at the same time, each with its own DAP (unipolar or bipolar, depending on the EVM).  If you examine the 5-6K schematic you will see that they use independent channels.  Note that a DAP for a D/A EVM will be mounted upside-down from how a DAP is mounted for an A/D EVM.
