Greetings,
I think I posted this in the wrong forum initially. Reposting here...
I'm thinking of starting an ARM server design based on the AM3892 w/SATA. Any advice on such a project? Are there reference designs available?
Thanks,
FM

Hi Frank,
Could you please provide more details.
Best Regards,
Pavel
Hi Pavel,
Thanks for the reply. I've initiated a design activity for a Mini-ITX server board that would be based on the Sitara 3892. The board would provide minimal interfaces targeted at a server application. 2 Gb of DDR3, a single SATA port connected to a disk or SSD, and a single Ethernet port. There would also be USB ports. The plan is to provide a basic Linux distro perhaps based on the Sitara Linux. I'm looking for any advice or pitfalls that might be helpful for me with such a project. For example, the reference schematics that are available seem to be older and targted at the Netra device rather than the Sitara device. Are there any more up to date reference materials?
Thanks,
FM

Hi Pavel,
Thanks for these links. I've seen them already. Any comment on the reference schematics?
Thanks,
FM
Hi,
Sorry, another question. Is it possible to get the ref schematics in a more useful format, perhaps Orcad rather than PDF?
Thanks,
FM
Hi Frank,
I do not have more than what we have here: http://support.spectrumdigital.com/boards/evm816x/revg/
See the C6A816x/AM389x EVM Board schematics pdf.
I will check also with our HW engineers and let you know if we can provide something more.
Best Regards,
Pavel
Hi Frank,
In the same link : http://support.spectrumdigital.com/boards/evm816x/revg/
Check the Schematic source in Orcad format.

Pavel
