Physical size of the TMDXIDK3359 boards?

Hi,

I'm looking into using TMDXIDK3359 for an industrial control application. First up we will use it for a prototype to be placed in an electrical cabinet on a DIN rail. To do that we need to enclose it. But I can't find any numbers of how big the TMDXIDK3359 is if you want to enclose it. Some schematic say 15x15, but what?And if in inch it is huge?

Can anyone help me out, either measure your Kit at home or if it is available on the net.

I've looked at the web my self with out success, I've asked the Ti chat and no success.

my board (really 2 stacked together) has 17x17 cm2... That is just the board size, so you need to add ~1cm on each side for the connectors (or plan for some holes in your case).

Really the board was not designed for production use and with connectors on all 4 sides it is also not very suitable for any standard cases I assume.

Hi Andreas,

From the PCB file of the ICE EVM board, which is also marked as 15x15, it's actually 170x170mm. I haven't checked, but ICE EVM and ICE IDK baseboards could very well be identical.

you are mixing boards here... ICE is much smaller... and cheaper.

The IDK has the same size as the AM3358 EVM(s). My answer was from measuring a real IDK board as this is the topic here.

I measured the dimensions in Allegro from the "am335x_iaevm_baseboard_3h0007_layout_Rev1_1A.brd" file, and they are 17x17cm as you say (http://www.ti.com/litv/zip/sprr174). I think there is some confusion, regarding ICE EVM and IDK naming conventions. I just saw that IDK is also referred as IA EVM.

It is not suitable at all being 17x17 cm but on the other hand incredible well suited for our purpose when it come to functionality.

We're about to implement a filed bus (EtherCAT or CanOpen) slave running a distributed motor control application, we also need digital and analogous IO.
