AM335x Beaglebone Black PRU Cape usage

I have recently purchased the PRU cape from TI for BBB and tried to run it by following the instructions given in the wiki page and hands on lab

but i really cannot understand how to use it.

Do i need to connect an FTDI cable? If yes, then how with the cape sitting on top of it which removes access to those pins?
Is RS-232 used to debug the bbb?
How do i use CCS to connect to BBB using the cape and program it considering I am familiar with coding TI DSPs?

I want to access the PRU in the BBB and program using CCSv6 like it is done for DSPs. Thus I have purchased the cape.

Any help would be appreciated.

Eshaan,

In order to use JTAG you will need to populate the JTAG header on the underside of the BeagleBone Black. This wiki page shows which connector you will need and which header you need to populate (P2):

I have already ordered the 20 pin JTAG from the TI store.

As per the instructions, I need to add GEL files in case of CCS v5. But do I need to do that if I am using CCS v6 or does I just need to plug in the BBB via JTAG and set target configuration as Beaglebone Black and it is all good to go for programming it on CCS?
