Part Number: TMDXIDK5718

Hi,

As I understand , booting from QSPI1 is possible for TMDXIDK5718.

1. How to write ""Boot images"" Uboot and MLO to QSPI1 flash?? I guess it is possible only via MMC SD card.

If i change the sysboot pins for peripheral boot from USB1 (DFU) is it possible??. I guess USB1 in TMDXIDK5718 is configured as host device. is such a case will this port support DFU.

From Uboot can i download image via USB2 (DFU). How to do this ?? does TI provide any examples for this??

  • I was referring to flashing Linux kernel image via USB2(DFU) from Uboot.

Which Processor SDK Linux version is this?

Please make sure you read the forum guidelines first.

  • Hi Rakesh,

The AM5718 processor supports DFU on USB1, if USB1 is designed in peripheral mode and Processor SDK Linux U-boot is patched accordingly, but the AM5718 IDK EVM doesn't support DFU on USB1 because the USB port is designed as a host-only port.

AM5718 doesn't support DFU on USB2, so DFU cannot be supported on its IDK EVM USB2 port either.

Yes, you can use DFU via USB2 in Uboot, (but not from ROM/sysboot). The Processor SDK Uboot User's Guide has an example showing how to do DFU in Uboot.
