OMAP-L138: STW to PDK Migration - OMAP-L138

Part Number: OMAP-L138
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: OMAPL138

I'm working on an application using OMAPL138. In project my previous colleague using StarterWare.
I want to delete the STW and replace it with the PDK (currently used SYS/BIOS and mixed STW and PDK).
I encountered many problems (ex. function used by STW I have not found in a PDK).
Is removing STW from the project it's a good idea?

Best regards,
Patryk

  • Hello Patryk,

Generally, we don't recommend mixing StarterWare with Processor SDK as the two software packages have a different groups up approach to enable application development.

The migration process from StarterWare to Processor SDK is not as straight-forward. Starterware is a software baseline from 2011 which is two generations older [Starterware/BIOS PSP] - > [MCSDK1.1 (CSL/PDK)] -> [Processor SDK RTOS]. We have a migration guide for MCSDK1.1 to Processor SDK RTOS but not for StarterWare.

Please note StarterWare is no longer active or supported on these forums. TI's recommendation is to start with Processor SDK for all new development.
