AM57x: IEEE1149.6 support? Latest BSDL version?

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: 66AK2G12, AM6548

Team,

Does AM57x support boundary scan IEEE1149.6? The .6 variant would be important for testing differential interfaces.

And when will "final" versions of the BSDL files be available? The ones for AM571x and AM572x are still marked as "Preliminary" in the file itself and are quite old.

I got these questions from a customer who needs to test AM57x boards in their production line. All variants will be used, AM571x, AM572x and AM574x.

Thanks & best regards,
  Robert

  • Hi Robert,

The AM57x family supports IEEE 1149.1 only and not 1149.6 (AC coupled) or 1149.7 (cJTAG). This is a limitation in the IP used. Other devices such as the 66AK2G12 and AM6548 have support for it.

    Regards,
    Ahmad

  • Regarding the "preliminary" status it can be safely disregarded. We will consider removing that label as there is no newer "final" file version from our DFT team except for the AM571x bsdl file which needs to be updated for SR 2.0 (change line 1142 from "0000" to "0001"). If you find additional errors or syntax issues please report those, the DFT team will certainly look in to it, and we will provide fixes as necessary.
