Hello,

Could you tell me change the EtherCAT Period using TwinCAT in TIDEP0025?

I am running TIDEP0025 demo using Endat Encoder and it works well.

If I changed "Cycle ticks" (NC-Task 1 SAF, →Task tab, in TwinCAT) , the demo can't run.

I would like to setup EtherCAT period 100us like benchmark data.

Hi quick question, did you tried higher cycle times? ex 2ms, or 10ms? just trying to get if the issue is related to a low cycle time or a twincat issue with the demo.

Thank you for your reply.

I changed to 4ms and 1ms,(default value was 2ms) but motor didn't work, too.

The demo setting 2ms cycle times works properly.

Hi, I haven't tried TIDEP0025 ( I don't have an EnDat encoder with me). But I tried a previous EtherCAT slave + motor control. I changed cycle time in Real Time -> I/O Idle Task -> cicle ticks 10 (quick test to 10ms). I was able to control AM4379 IDK LEDs.

Question, can you control LEDs but not motor control? or neither?

Hi, a colleague, who has TIDEP0025 setup, helped us to check.

He checked the csp mode of operation. Keeping NC-Task 1 SVB as 10 ms, I/O idle task as 1 ms, and changed the cycle time of NC-Task 1 SAF to 1ms , 2ms , 4ms and 10ms. Application seemed to be working correctly for all of these cases.

Hi a quick update, we tried 100us on Twincat 2. Application seems to be working correctly for 100us.

Hi, as mentioned in above post, we used TwinCAT2 in an Windows XP machine.

We tried:

•NC-Task 1 SVB as 10 ms, I/O idle task as 1 ms
•NC-Task 1 SAF to 100us

And

•NC-Task 1 SVB as 1 ms, I/O idle task as 100us
•NC-Task 1 SAF to 100us

And few other combination, all of them seem to be working correctly.
