Dear Sir,

For developing the new project (Protection relay) i need to select the suitable modules from TI, can you help me.

My requirement is as below

1) TIDA-00834 & ADS8555SEVM - High speed & accuracy analog input module for 4 Channel AC Current 1 or 5 Amps and 4 Channel AC Voltage 63.5V or 110V with Zero Cross Sensing, 50/60Hz (1 card for 4 + 4 Channels)

2) TIDA-00164 & ADS8688 - High speed & accuracy 4-20mA or 0-10V analog input module for 8 Channels (4 cards for 32 Channels)

3) TIDA-00320 High speed digital output module 2x8 Channels (2 cards for 16 Channels)

Note: My original Requirement for DI & DO

a) The Digital input normal voltage shall be 220V DC or 110V DC and suitable to withstand 300V DC or 150V DC respectively. Total 16 DI Signals

b) The Digital output contact normal voltage shall be 220V DC or 110V DC and suitable to withstand 300V DC or 150V DC respectively, Max 10 or 20 Amps DC for 1sec withstand. Total 16 DO Signals

4) TIDA-00557 & TIDEP-00074.1 RS232 & IEC 61850 Communication modules

5) Sitara AM6X Processor Card

6) LCD Display

7) Time Synchronization module (IRIG or GPS)

I need help from TI based on the above selection correct or not, kindly help me to select the suitable modules

Hello Vanathi Pandi
Good to know you are working on a protection relay.
As you mentioned in your mail, a protection relay has the below modules
AC analog input module
Processor Module
Communication modules
Power supply module
Binary input module
DC analog input/output module
Expansion module
We do not provide solutions for complete modules but we have TI design which provides solution on a subsystem level within the protection relay.

You can see protection relay section. Click on the module of your interest and you will see a End Equipment reference diagram.
If you click any of the subsystems relevant TI designs and parts are shown. You can continue from their looking at the available information.

This can be the starting point for your design.
In the meantime, please contact TI sales with the project information and your requirements to take forward the discussion.

TI is in the business of designing, manufacturing and selling semiconductor chips. The TIDesigns^TM provided are for reference only. We are not a system design house that makes and sells products, in your case protection relay. You can use the TIDesign and the design files provided for quicker evaluation of functionality and to accelerate your development cycle.

You would have the hire OEMs such TCS, Wipro, L&T, etc, etc… to build and validate your designs for your system requirements.

We can review your block diagram and provide recommendations for you and your OEM to follow but note of caution is we don’t wat you to share anything that is company IP.

can you please suggest high speed Digital output card ( or static Switching Cards) , 4-20mA Card, GPS time Synchronization card suitable for protection relay TI Cards Part no / Code

Hello Vanathi

As previously mentioned we do not provide complete card solutions but we have TI designs that provides subsystem level solutions.

The above requirements seems generic. Do you have some specs for the DO and 4-20 ma modules?

We have solutions for IEEE1588 PTP, refer to TIDA-00496. We do not have any TI reference design showcasing IRIG implementation but we have MUX, amps and comparators and isolators to do the implementation.

as i have already mentioned TI designs are subsystem level solutions and you will have to combine multiple of these TI design to make the card you send me in the block diagram and you are the best to choose the required solution.
