Hello,

we plan to use the emulator TMDSEMU200-U with TMS320C6654 and there is overwhelming amount of information in the forums. I would like to use the 14 position header to connect the emulator and it uses EMU0 and EMU1. The emulator also comes with a 20 position header which uses in addition EMU2, EMU3 and EMU4. Are they used and is there a loss in function if we use the 14 versus the 20 position headers? We are familiar with the 14 and have used with other TI DSPs and also have the parts in stock.

Is it okay to use the 14 position header with TMDSEMU200-U

I have gone through spru655i and spru641 but I wasn't clear.

Divakar,

The only loss of functionality you will experience is the inability to perform System Trace on the device. All other functionality will be guaranteed to work.

would I get it with the 20 pin header? Or there is no difference between 20 and 14 pin with regards to the TMDSEMU200-U,

Divakar,

Please apologize; I missed in my previous reply that you were using the XDS200 Debug Probe.

Since this particular Debug Probe does not support System Trace via the EMU2~4 pins, there is no practical difference in using either pin standard (20 or 14).
