DRA746: Need to know whether EMIF1 is a mandate or optional

In a custom hardware, we are planning to interface DDR3 only using EMIF2.(not connecting anything to EMIF1 slot)

I went through the manual, it doesn’t specify any restriction for mandating EMIF1.

Can you please let me know if there is any limitation on the same.

Also, after spending some couple of days on DDR config, came across a tool(EMIF_RegisterConfiguration.xlsm from TI forum).

Is it possible to share a list such tools apart from this, which can help in porting the software for the Custom board.

I am using the below TRM version

Hi Franklin,

EMIF1 is not mandatory. You can program the DMM such that the full 2GB of system DDR space is mapped to EMIF2.

Please ensure that the unused DDR pins are appropriately tied off according to the DRA746 datasheet.
