Part Number: AM6526

Hi,

Does TI have a power consumption spreadsheet for the AM65xx family?.

thanks

  • Hi Stephen,

    Refer to below e2e threads:

  • Looks like we have to contact our TI rep to get the PET.  Correct?

  • Yes, you need to get this tool through TI rep.

  • Hi Stephen,

FYI, if you reached out to a TI rep they would eventually reach to me so I can help you our here. At this point in time there is a PET for AM65x based on SR1.0. However we're not planning to release PG1.0 due to power being much higher than expected (nearly 8W). We're in the process of leaving no stone un-turned to lower the power for AM65x PG2.0.

The expected range for AM65x PG2.0 is 4W to 6W depending on Arm utilization and whether you're using the high power SerDes based peripherals like PCIe or USB3. Temperature also impacts the power so if your system has lower ambient temperatures, a heatsinks, or other cooling that will in fact keep power low too. Since you're considering the AM6526 the power will definitely be closer to 4W.

FYI our road map was recently updated and we'll have a AM64x soon that will more likely be a fit for you since it is native dual-core A53. Power target for that chip is much below 4W. You'll need to speak to a TI rep for info on that one.

    Regards,
    Ahmad
