CCS/AM3358: Timer interrupt issue in Bootloader

Hi,

I am using Sitara am335x EVM-SK board. I am going to develop timer interrupt in internal RAM(Bootloader) code. In that I have enable timer overflow interrupt. I tested this code on DDR its working fine, but if I add this code into bootloader its interrupt is not working. ISR is not called by system.

Is any changes or extra function called required in Internal RAM(Bootloader) code for enable interrupt.

Regards,

Harish

  • Hi Harish,

I am not sure I understand your question. You said your application code works OK in DDR, but not in internal RAM(Bootloader) code. Sounds like you are trying to make timer interrupt work in SBL (Secondary Bootloader), am I right?

By the way,  what Processor SDK RTOS version are you using right now?

    Dear Ming,

Yes I am talking about SBL and I am using AM335X_StarterWare_02_00_01_01 NAND Flash boot loader code.

merged timer interrupt code into boot code but interrupt is not generated.

    Harish

  • In reply to Harish Samgir:

    Dear Ming,

Is Startup.c file is required for SBL(Secondary Bootloader) code for running interrupt.

Because  I have checked startup file in that Interrupt Vector table is assigned.

If that file required for SBL then suggest what should be the changes in startup.c file.

    Harish

  • In reply to Harish Samgir:

    Hi Harish,

starup.c is part of the SBL already. To add the timer interrupt, you will need follow the steps done in TIMERUtilFreeRunInit() of C:\ti_am3_610\pdk_am335x_1_0_16\packages\ti\starterware\utils\dmtimer_utils.c AND

    in TIMEUtilsInit() of C:\ti_am3_610\pdk_am335x_1_0_16\packages\ti\starterware\utils\time_utils.c.

You can download the Processor SDK RTOS 6.1.0 for AM335x from:

    http://software-dl.ti.com/processor-sdk-rtos/esd/AM335X/latest/index_FDS.html

    Hi Ming,

    I issue is resolved.

Issue was I was using ble_Init.asm instead of init.asm.

Inside ble_Init.asm there is Stratup.c is not linked so IVT was not assigning now I am using init.asm its worked.

    Regards,

    Harish
