TMDSIDK574: SD card boot failure

Are both of your boards the same EVM revision?  Do the SDCARD connectors appear identical?

Thank you for your response.

The answer is no.

I have 2 types of TMDSIDK574 boards, Rev 1.0A and Rev B. Their SD card connectors look different. (it seems opposite)

Rev 1.0A works normally. When I insert a micro SD card, it shows me Linux RT booting process through a serial monitoring program.

Rev B does not work. It shows nothing though I insert the same micro SD card.

Should I do something to the Rev B board to use a micro SD card as its first boot device?

As Bill told you in your other E2E thread, the production test procedure uses the SDCARD to boot the test software.  Therefore, this is expected to be fully functional.  We are checking to see if the same software version is expected to operate on both.

Suddenly the board showed boot messages, but it has a problem.

Please check below messages.

I tried to use a SD card enclosed in the board's package. But it didn't work. It showed me above messages

I tried to used a different SD card with the newest Linux RT. Still, it didn't work. (same with the previous case)

Please help me.

It appears that the bootmode pins are not correct.  Can you connect an emulator and read the CTRLMMR_MAIN_DEVSTAT and CTRLMMR_WKUP_DEVSTAT register values?  Please provide them here.  Also, please do the same for the functioning IDK EVM.

I checked two registers of both EVMs. The name of registers are CTRL_CORE_BOOTSTRAP and CTRL_MODULE_WKUP.

The values of CTRL_CORE_BOOTSTRAP of both boards are same, that is 0x00008106.

However, the values of CTRL_MODULE_WKUP are different. 

The below picture is a screenshot of the values of the not functioning board.

And the functioning one's registers are ...

Please check those registers and guide me.

I'm wondering if you got any clues.

I have another problem with my third TMDSIDK574 board.

This board shows nothing..

The not working board I early asked shows boot error messages at least.

The third board shows no boot messages and code composer studio does not recognize the board, so I cannot tell you register values.

Should I do something before use TMDSIDK574 board? It is very confusing..

You are now mentioning a third TMDSIDK574 EVM.  Is this a newly purchased EVM?  Is it the same board revision as the second one that we have been discussing?

Actually, I purchased 4 EVMs at once. Two boards are working, but the other two are not working. All those boards are rev. B.

Just for clarity - you also have a TMDSIDK574 EVM from our earlier release that is a RevA.  Are you running the same code on all of them - including the RevA and the four RevBs?

- Since I am doing my project with Rev A board now, I am not sure if Rev B boards always operate robustly. 

I am planning to use Rev B boards after all my Rev B boards work well.

In this case, is it okay if I follow the TI return process? or should I follow a different return process (mouser return process?)?
