Hi Keerthy,
1) Are you referring to specific SDK version? No. I am asking in generic for TDA4EVM platform.
2) Do you mean Android fast boot? Yes, the same mechanism but for flashing qnx ifs image and bootloader files in the TDA4EVM board.

Gokul
Gokul,
1. Is there any specific fastboot features you are planning to use ?
2. Do you have a preference of Fastboot over { Ethernet/USB ?}
Hi Praneeth,
1. We need to use for flashing/updating new images.(qns-ifs, testdata ,stage(bin/.libs) and bootloader files) as mentioned in psdkqa user guide
https://www.ti.com/securesoftware/docs/autopagepreview.tsp?opnId=24427
PSDKQA Release 7Q70.1.3
2. we prefer it over USB.
Regards,
Gokul
Gokul,
While i cannot comment specifically on QNX.
But uboot [1] supports fastboot flash over usb/ethernet on eMMC UDA partition.
and patches for reference [2]

Hi Praneeth,
Can you please share your email id? I would like to have a discussion on this.

Gokul,
Lets continue in e2e. If you need a offline discussion please work thru customer program CPM.
Hi Praneeth,
I understood it will work for Android Platform. Have you tried this for Linux platform ? (bootloader, kernel image & rootfs)..
What will be challenges to make it work for QNX platform ?
Regards,
Gokul
Did not try on non android use case.
Fast boot is a flashing fwk,so I don't see a reason why it will not work for other os.
For linux ,dfu util is used for similar flashing purpose.
Hi Keerthy,
I am trying to enter fastboot mode via the following command. I have connected the USB cable.
What may be the problem to show the below one ?
=>fastboot 0
No USB device found
USB init failed: -19

Gokul,
1. what is the dip switch setting you are using ? I am using: SW3:1101001010, SW8: 10000000 SW9:00000000
2. is your linux machine detecting board when a usb cable is connected ?
Hi Praneeth,
I am keeping SW8 & SW9 for SD card boot mode as mentioned.
http://downloads.ti.com/jacinto7/esd/processor-sdk-rtos-jacinto7/latest/exports/docs/psdk_rtos_auto/docs/user_guide/evm_setup_j721e.html
Do i need to modify this settings ?
Regards,
Gokul
Gokul,
the url you mentioned is for rtos evm setup. I dont know or can comment on that information based on rtos boot media supported and the boot flow.
Fastboot is setup to flash images to eMMC UDA mode. The dip switch settings mentioned are for
1. Setting up eMMC UDA mode ( If a SD card is detected that gets the higher precedence for booting)
2. SW3: configures USB in gadget mode and this is needed for fastboot.
Give it a try
Praneeth,
I have tried . But it is not working.
I have configured SW3 as mentioned by you and configured sw8 & sw9 for SD-card as below,
Is it possibe to get the fastboot solution for this case?
Regards,
Gokul
Hi Gokul,
As per emails exchanged offline and above in this thread, Android Fastboot is not a TI supported feature for TDA4x.
The patches and recommendations above will need to be taken as-is, if Android Fastboot is going to be used in the PSDKQA context.
