AM3359: LCD to VGA conversion

Part Number: AM3359

Hi,

We are designing a SITARA AM3359 processor based custom boards.

As per our requirement we need to have a VGA output (to be connected to the PC Display) and we need to use Linux SDK.

Due to pin constraints we are able to assign only 16Bit LCD controller (and not 24Bit LCD), please suggest us for the following doubts,

  1. Among different 16Bit modes supported by LCD controller of AM335x, which is the suitable mode to be selected to have the final VGA (to be connected to Standard PC display) output.
  2. Suggests us suitable LCD to VGA converter chip
  3. Please confirm the Linux Driver SDK availability fora all the 16Bit LCD controller modes

Regards, Senthilkumar R
