TMDSIDK574: Development board fails to boot

Part Number: TMDSIDK574

Our TMDSIDK574 development board fails to boot, either from the included SD card or with a new card programmed with the image file in am57xx-evm-linux-06.02.00.81.img.zip.

When booting, the following output is seen from the debug terminal:

U-Boot SPL 2019.01-ga141f7abfd (Jan 05 2020 - 10:23:38 +0000)

Card did not respond to voltage select!
Firmware loading failed
Trying to boot from MMC1
no pinctrl state for default mode
Card did not respond to voltage select!
spl: mmc init failed with error: -95
SPL: failed to boot from all boot devices
### ERROR ### Please RESET the board ###

Sometimes the output is different, but with the same failed result:

Other forum posts describing similar symptoms seemed to indicate a hardware failure where returning the board for replacement was the solution.

Any help or insight is greatly appreciated.  Thank you.

  • Hi Aron,

If you have any other previous version of the board you could try the same SD card on them and they should
work. The signature of the issue seems to suggest the board with the hardware issue you already have searched.

The board issue is root caused to a board issue related to SD interface.
Hence request you to submit an RMR request to procure a replacement
newer version board with the issue fixed. Till you receive the newer
version of the board request to continue on working 1.0A boards.

Until then this thread can be closed.

For any further queries you can reply on this very thread.

    RMR procedure:
