AM1806: 5V USB VBUS input when device power off

Part Number: AM1806
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS22913

Dear Champs,

I understand USB VBUS of AM1806 is not fail-safe IO, and thus it should be disconnected when device power off.

https://e2e.ti.com/support/processors/f/791/p/149608/2089108?tisearch=e2e-sitesearch&keymatch=VBUS%2525252520AND%2525252520fail%2525252520AND%2525252520safe#2089108

When I checked 'AM1x schematic review guidelines' , it was recommended to disconnect VBUS using discrete load switch like TPS22913.

But, my customer requested to check again if there is a way to avoid this situation by using voltage divider as below.

Could you please let me know if VBUS should be dis-connected completely as recommended in 'AM1x schematic review guidelines' when device power-off, or if it will be OK when the voltage can be managed?

If voltage divider can be used, what is the threshold volt?

Thanks and Best Regards,

SI.
