J7 RAM & Flash

Hello,

Could you please let me how we can share RAM and UFS memory between R5F & A72 core? If you can point me to a documentation available for this and the files we have to change in SW?

Do we have UFS drivers available in TI RTOS?

Thanks,

Satish

  • Hi Satish,

Apologies for a late response. I'm checking this and will get back shortly.

    Regards,

    Karan

  • Hi Satish,

We do not have an RTOS driver for UFS, we do have it on Linux.

Can you please provide some more details on the UFS on RTOS use case? I can then discuss with the team on that.

Also, just to confirm, you plan to run TI RTOS on R5 and Linux on A72?

    Regards,

    Karan

  • Hi Karan,

We are planning to keep TI RTOS on R5F and Linux on A72.

The use case we are envisioning is we are collecting CAN & LIN data on R5 core and then use Shared memory to pass it to A72 core. We have 256gb onboard UFS and I was thinking if there a way we can capture CAN and LIN data from R5 core and write it to UFS and pass the handle(memory address) to A72 core over IPC to read the data.

Could you please help us understand what is would be best idea to share large data between R5F & A72 core and how we can pass the data? Please note that the payload size is large and we are thinking that IPC LLD can not handle it that's why we are exploring "shared memory" concept.

    Thanks,

    Satish

  • Hi Satish,

We have provided this reference example recently to your colleagues and I have connected you to that. Please follow up offline on this. If you have issues accessing the information, you can write back here.
