TMS320C6748: Setting timer period for desired clock frequency for timer

Goal: Use timer 3 to generate a free running counter at 1 Mhz.

  Input clock frequency:  187.5 MHz (SYSCLK2)

  Timer Mode:  dual 32-bit chained mode

Question:  What is the prescale period value that will result in TIM12 count at 1 MHz?

Problem:  Prescaler needs to be 187.5 but it needs to be a whole number.

Is there an alternative method to accomplish the same goal?
