yes, I am asking about EMAC BOOT only.

My task is to upload the Software to the processor module through ethernet cable for that I thought EMAC boot.

any other method is there to upload the Software to the processor module through ethernet cable?

As I told you above, this doesn't exist in Processor-SDK-RTOS. I'm not in a position to create these examples from scratch.

I spoke with a colleague about this, and he suggested u-boot might be an option. The basic idea for the multi-stage boot flow would be:

ROM (RBL) -> SPL -> u-boot -> app

Each of these steps would operate over Ethernet.

I've reassigned this thread to another colleague that should know more about this process and whether it's possible.

Note that U-Boot usually is used to setup an execution context meant for a higher-level OS to run (such as Linux) and initializes hardware such as DDR. So if you want to run a custom application after loading it through U-Boot you will need to tailor your application code to this. The RTOS SDK/StarterWare type of SW will most likely NOT run as-is in that environment, and this is also not a scenario we support. However U-Boot has what's called "standalone examples" (under /examples/standalone) that you could model after.

Anyways the steps as to how to setup and perform Ethernet-based boot using U-Boot are documented as part of the TI Linux Processor SDK documentation available at http://software-dl.ti.com/processor-sdk-linux/esd/docs/latest/linux/How_to_Guides/Host/How_to_Setup_Ubuntu_1404_Network_Boot.html While those steps say Ubuntu 14.04 I had no real issues doing that setup on a Ubuntu 18.04 machine. Once at U-Boot prompt, you can then load your application from there using tftp or nfs commands into DDR (0x80000000), and then execute it using a suitable command (such as 'go <addr>').

Our SPL and U-Boot images provided with/built from the TI Linux SDK v6.3 using the "AM335x EVM defconfig" will work right out of the box to support a full Ethernet-based boot on the supported platforms by that defconfig (AM335x GP EVM, AM335x SK, BBB, etc) however note that some of those platforms such as AM335x SK and BBB will require a hardware modifications to enable the required SYSBOOT settings to force ROM to boot from Ethernet.

Unfortunately we don't have such a solution at this time. If you must use the RTOS SDK as a base you should stick with the boot modes that are officially supported.

In AM335x reference manual  The ROM Code can boot from three different peripheral interfaces:

• EMAC: 1000/100/10 Mbps Ethernet, using standard TCP/IP network boot protocols BOOTP and TFTP
• USB: Full speed, client mode
• UART: 115.2Kbps, 8 bits, no parity, 1 stop bit, no flow control

my customer is asking to load the code through ethernet cable in Windows and RTOS base .

could you please suggest me based on this..
