SYSBIOS: iwr68xx, Semaphore_A_pendTaskDisabled or Event_A_pendTaskDisabled asserts

Hi,

I am getting these asserts from time to time. I am having quite a lot of tasks and it can be running for 20 minutes sometimes and 5 seconds sometimes.

Can someone explain to me the reason to getting these and steps to improve our code to solve the problem?

Hi Micke,

Please provide more context to the problem:

1. Whether you're running a demo from Industrial Toolbox or is this a custom code?

2. Provide a snapshot of the function call stack from CCS debug window and also the console log (if this is a toolbox demo).

Hi,

I havent seen this issue again since I changed my binary semaphores from Semaphore_Mode_BINARY_PRIORITY to Semaphore_Mode_BINARY.

I am using industrial toolbox. I am getting an other exception now instead.

Browsing the forum this might be cased by HWI in someway? Where do i set the priority and size of the HWI-stack?

OK, so the error is gone now. I had a heartbeat every second sending System_printf( "1 sec\n" ); without this heartbeat everything works. What in the uart printf causes this error?

Hi Mikael,

Looking at the SYSBIOS KNLdocumentation available at file:///C:/ti/bios_6_73_01_01/docs/cdoc/index.html#ti/sysbios/knl/Semaphore.html, this assert is raised if the calling task or the scheduler itself is disabled. I wonder if the UART_printf is causing such a condition.

I would recommend posting this question in the CCS/Tools forum so that someone from the SYSBIOS team can provide more insight.

Thanks Nitin,

I will do so. The problem is solved a.t.m. by not calling the function (it was only for debugging purposes anyway), but it would be interesting knowing what and why to prevent it from happening somewhere else.

Also after all my debugging I am able to write a more detailed description of the issue.
