Dear experts,

Does any graphical interface exist to communicate with J721E EVM ? it's strange that the only way to communicate with this board is to use Terminal via minicom.

When I was using Raspberry Pi, it has its GUI and it made things simple, or tightVNC for Beaglebone.

I'm asking if there is a similar interface for J721E evm.

Yes, of course there is. You can use the Code Composer Studio: https://www.ti.com/tool/CCSTUDIO . There is also an alternative, you can pick Lauterbach as well.

Hi Alex,

Actually, I'm asking about an interface where I can see my Desktop and use keyboard and mouse connected to the evm without connecting the board to the laptop. is that possible ?

CCS needs to be installed in Ubuntu in laptop and it only provides the interface for programming and compiling so I always need to use the laptop :/

Not sure I'm getting your question. So you want to mangle with the EVM software without connecting to a debugger/uart/host computer? You can always boot RTOS/Linux on the EVM and hook up a display and interface this way.

Hi Brahim,

The Linux SDK supports Weston - this is the equivalent of what you are looking - like a desktop that allows you to launch applications and control through a Graphical interface.

There is also a matrix-gui that has some representative applications that can be controlled via a mouse. You can create more by following some reference examples.

The J721E also support plug and play devices, so you can connect a mouse/keyboard and control the interface.

However, it does not come with a full featured desktop like your other examples that you quoted.

J721E EVM has two usb ports, I connected a mouse and a keyboard in them but they are not detected so I cannot login using root.

In the display screen connected to display port 0, I see the following picture:

How I can use a mouse and a keyboard?
