AM4378: What exact patches are available with RT kernel

Part Number: AM4378

Hi,

We have our custom board and evaluated standard Linux but we would like to understand exact patches of RT kernel against standard Linux, So do we expect interrupt latency as well as accurate timers? Also if we consider timer in Qt which also expect accurate in Linux RT? Just we are trying to understand what would be the advantage of Linux RT against standard Linux.

Thanks and Regards

  • Hi,

Unfortunately we do not have a document that summarizes the RT patch set. Since this is a Linux community patch there may be document somewhere that describes the differences. TI releases both a RT (patch set already applied) and Non-RT (standard) SDK for the AM437x. I would recommend using cyclictest to evaluate the system latency to see if the RT SDK for the AM437x meets your needs.

    Best Regards,

    Schuyler
