OMAP-L137 Document Revision History

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: OMAP-L137

Hello,

This is regarding the Revision History of technical documents.

OMAP-L137's each peripheral user guide has a section "Appendix A Revision History"

describing the changes added to the present version of the document,

but it doesn't mention about the details of previous version

(i.e from which older version these changes are added or modified).

For example the datasheet mentions exact details of the previous version of the document.

Unfortunatlely our customer was referring to very older user guides dated "September 2008".

Now they are having trouble with their custom boards,

its hard to find out what could be the differences between the documents dated "September 2008"

and the recent versions.

Because we don't have the intermediate versions.

For example the USB 2.0 user guide's Revision History says,

"Changed Description of USB0_ID pin" but we don't know what did the previous version of the document

mentioned about this pin.

Is there any way to download all the version of the user guides or is there any

document that that could describe the details about older versions.

I am sorry this query seems to be lengthy.

Regards.

Generally speaking, new revisions of the datasheet / user guide reflect changes to the previous revision. In this case it would be Lit Number SPRUFM9G

Older versions are replaced when an error is found, or some additional level of details is added/changed. It's always best to view the latest user guide as the latest and greatest version of the original. i.e. there should be to much information that is different.

We have internal revisions of the user guide, however making all the revisions available would mean that errors would persist infinitely on the website (in older revisions), which is obviously not a good thing.

What in particular, are you having trouble with?

  • Unfortunately they were looking at the original document, dated September 2008. Since then, we have generated 8 revisions and the current version, SPRUFM9H, was released in July 2010.

If you need earlier revisions, please feel free to contact me.

    We mention in our Preface:

The current documentation that describes the DSP, related peripherals, and other technical collateral, is available in the C6000 DSP product folder at:

  • hello,

    thankyou for the reply

    We haven't tested it completely

but currently our customer has a problem with USB 2.0, it seems there are times

    when USB peripheral stops working(freeze's).

First of all, before debugging this issue,

we have to see that the ciruit is designed according to the

    current technical documents.

So as we have documents dated September 2008(downloaded long back) and

    the current version(from the website),

I have started to find out the difference one by one peripheral terminals and pin description.

is there any easy way to find out the differences between the documents dated September 2008

    and the current version.

It is a tedious job to make out the exact changes made in each every peripheral user guides

and the datasheet, there are possbility that we could miss something.

Finally we need to check whether we have to make a slight modification to the the custom board or

whether we have to change too many things with the differences between the documents.

    Regards,

  • hi,

I made a quick search with the older and recent documents,

the only major difference I found was with USB2.0 module.

    USB0_VSSA→ NC

    USB0_VSSA33 →NC

I believe there is no much change in

the remaining terminal functions or any other spec on the device.

    Regards.
