TDA4VM: [TDA4VM]NFS can not be mounted on TDA4 EVM board with PSDKLA7.0

Hi Expert,

we are trying NFS boot on TDA4 EVM with latest PSDKLA7.0. but the nfs filesystem can not be mounted.

    Do you have the entries added appropriately /etc/exports of Linux PC?

  • Your /etc/exports look OK. 

    Make sure /etc/exports have 644 permission and do below commands to restart nfs server

    sudo /etc/init.d/nfs-kernel-server stop
    sudo /etc/init.d/nfs-kernel-server start

    Try changing the permission of the targetfs folder on Linux PC also to 775 (only the top level folder)

    dorprocboot and name_overlays should be separate env settings for u-boot. In your steps it's mixed with bootargs. Can you try the below?

    => setenv bootargs console=ttyS2,115200n8 earlycon=ns16550a,mmio32,0x02800000 rootwait root=/dev/nfs rw rootfstype=nfs nfsroot=192.168.43.101:/opt/j721_sd,v3,tcp,rsize=4096,wsize=4096 ip=dhcp

    => setenv dorprocboot 1


    => setenv name_overlays k3-j721e-vision-apps.dtbo

    I tried to separate env settings in u-boot. but it failed boot either.

    It seems the overlay dtbo did not take effect, because the display is initialized during linux booting.

    the dss should be controlled by R5F if adding "name_overlays k3-j721e-vision-apps.dtbo".

    Could you please help to check?

    Many thanks for your help. It is working now.

    Following your suggestion I used the script "setupBoard.minicom" in "ti-processor-sdk-linux-automotive-j7-evm-07_00_00/bin/" and did a little change to set the

    "overlay_files" manually, because there is no "name_overlays" in ext_cards about  "k3-j721e-vision-apps.dtbo" in u-boot.

    It need to remove contents under rootfs in SD card.
