AM3359: Loading Linux for first time on new board

Part Number: AM3359

Good evening,

I have a new design from the fab that just came in, and I'm attempting to load Linux from a SD card with one of the images available for download from TI.com. I'm overall seeing good signs that the device is up and running. Power rails look good. If no SD card is inserted, I see the device continuously sending out a "C" on the UART as described in the boot guides.

However, I'm not sure how to tell what is happening when I insert a SD card with an image on it. When the device is powered on, I notice that the power usage is roughly 100 mA higher with the SD card inserted so it seems to be doing something. The "C" message is also no longer seen- just a constant logic high on the UART channel. I let it sit for about an hour, but I did not see the power drop or any sign of an image being loaded successfully. What is the best way to tell if the image is loaded?

I have USB, JTAG, HDMI, micro SD, and a number of GPIOs available. The design was based on the Beaglebone Black design (but I am not using a BBB image- I'm using one straight from TI). I am using the am335x-evm-linux-06.03.00.106 image.

Thanks!
