STARTERWARE-SITARA: PLL configuration according to OPP

Hello,

Platform Development Kit includes a bootloader project within the starterware directory and the source files contain some PLL settings referenced to the OPP table.

I use SitaraAM3357. The datasheet contain a chapter called Operating Perfomance Points (OPPs) but I miss some informations relating the PLL configuration.

Does anybody know how to set up the EVM Independent PLL configuration?

Apologies for the delayed response. What specific details not in the TRM did you want clarification on?

thank you for your reply.

Inside the bootloader project there is a function called "SBLPlatformPllInit(). This function contains a section with PLL settings (mpu, core, per, disp). This configuration is EVM independent and referenced to the OPP table. The datasheet contains OPP table but I miss some details how to set the configuration values of this section.

I think the missing piece for you here is the Clock Tree Tool.

The values in the starterware bootloader match with the values used in the AM335x GEL file which essentially configures the clocks to by determining the input clock frequency from register SYSBOOT[15:14]. By default for all input frequency clocks the ARM and SYSPLL are configured for OPP_NOM (600 Mhz)

If you want to change the OPP then you can refer to the following spreadsheet

AM335x_DPLL_Calc_v3.xls

Please note OPP is a combination of core voltage and PLL clock setting so for OPP_OD and OPP_HIGH make sure that the core voltage from the PMIC is configured accordingly.
