TMS320C6652: Switching boot images with RBL

Part Number: TMS320C6652

Hi,

I have a question about SPI Boot of C665x.
The setting of the BOOTMODE pin can change the parameter table index, does this mean that the user can have multiple application images to launch with this pin setting?

Best Regards,
H.U

  • Yes, the feature was used to provide RBL to use different parameter tables that allows users to force the RBL to read the boot images with different SPI peripheral configuration and from different offset.

For example RBL boots SPI by default with PLL in bypass mode and reads from offset zero using SPI clock of 150 KHz. USers can set the pin to second parameter table and append the table to the boot image. The RBL will then read the parameter table first, configure PLL and SPI clock based on user provided settings and read from offset specified in the table. So technically, the device can have 8 different parameter tables and using the pins allow the RBL to load from 8 different offsets.
