Hi,

The customer is considering to apply EtherCAT master on AM6526 by using Dual EMAC PRU-ICSSG firmware, because CPSW cannot be used on their board. Acontis’s EtherCAT master solution can be implemented by using Dual EMAC on PRU-ICSSG, not using CPSW. Is this correct ?

Hi Matsumoto San,

Technically you can do EtherCAT master on both CPSW and PRU-ICSS using the Acontis EtherCAT master solution. But for AM65, PRU-ICSS has better support and more ports available.

You can refer to this reference design on AM57x

Thanks for your answer. OK, I understood. EtherCAT master can be implemented on PRU-ICSS by using DUAL_EMAC PRU-ICSSG firmware, not using SWITCH firmware.
