Hi Team,

When using Parallel NAND FLASH, GPMC and BOOTMODE pins are overlapped. How do I configure the circuit?

Hi,

What OS do you use?

Processor SDK Linux for AM64x doesn't support GPMC, so you cannot use NAND via GPMC on your design if you use Linux.

1) Why doesn't SDK-Linux-AM64x support GPMC. any critical issue ?

2) Is there release plan for Linux GPMC support?

3) What's the recommended storage for AM64x if NAND is not supported?

Hi Jack,

The AM64x EVM doesn't have NAND, so we don't have a platform to develop and validate NAND support. Currently we don't have a plan to add NAND support in Processor SDK. But we recommend customers to use eMMC or QSPI/OSPI flash.

When using Linux, is MT25QU512ABB1EW9-0SIT(QSPI NOR FLASH) applicable? And are there any precautions when selecting FLASH?

I don't think software care what FLASH device to use, but not sure if there is hardware factors you have to consider. I am routing your query to our QSPI hw experts for comments.

The Bootmode/Bootstrap are Special Configuration Pins, latched on rising edge of MCU_PORz. Once latched, the pin reverts to the function selected via the pin specific mux-mode.
