AFE7988: About RSSI range against the item of Pfs_cw,min / Pfs_cw,max

Part Number: AFE7988

Dear all

I have a question about RSSI range in AFE7988.

If RSSI range is 0 dB <= SNR, Pfs_cw, min =-0.4dBm (f=3.6G,DSA=0dB)  and   SFDR=84dBFS,

so is it OK to use RSSI = -0.4dBm to -84.4dBm (84dB) ?

 On the ohter hand, there is an item of Psa_cw,max = 18.5dBm, (I don't understand this item.)

 Is DSA=18.9dB(=19dB)  setting in this case ?

And RSSI range becomes from 18.5dBm to -65.5dBm (84dB)?

  • Hi

    If I understand RSSI correctly, you are asking the maximum dynamic range referred to the input. Your understanding is correct with RSSI with respect to the input in dBm.

    On the ohter hand, there is an item of Psa_cw,max = 18.5dBm, (I don't understand this item.)

    This is the reliability input range. When the input power exceed the threshold, the DSA and LNA bypass is automatically kicked in for maximum attenuation for maximum input protection.
