AFE7422: which parameter of Mode 3, is correct

Part Number: AFE7422
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TSW14J57EVM

1 select Mode3

In datasheet ,Mode3 RX LMFS, is 44320

2   register write to 0x0043,in datasheet 0x0012 represnt 48410

register filelocation is  C:\Users\Public\Documents\Texas Instruments\AFE74xx\Configuration Files

3

in AFE74xx_RX_Mode3.ini ,the parameter writen  to FPGA IP core ,L=8 M=8 F=4 S=2

C:\Program Files (x86)\Texas Instruments\High Speed Data Converter Pro\14J57revE Details\ADC files

it confuses me,when I config jesd 204b IP

  • Hi Yang,

Regarding question 2, we will verify mode3 config on the EVM and get back.

Regarding 3, TSW14J57EVM doesn't truly support F=3. This is a limitation of Intel JESD Ip. As a work around, F is set to 4. But local muiti-frame clock frequency is matched to that of AFE74xx by adjusting K value set in the ini file. On the AFE F=3 and K=32. On FPGA, F=4 and K=24. i.e. F*K = 96 in both cases.

  • Hi Yang,

In regards to question 2, the GUI is setting the register correctly. Register write of 0x12, represents LMFS 44320 as seen in Table 79 of the datasheet. For the LMFS mode you mentioned, 48410, the write would be 0x0A.
