LMX8410LEVM: Set the LMX8410LEVM to internal LO Mode

Part Number: LMX8410LEVM

Dear community,
I have to set the LMX8410LEVM to internal LO Mode, in the user guide is showed not good enough.
how I have to configure the registers.
Can you help me how I can I do this?
Best regards,
Iordan Pentchev.

  • Hi Lordan,

As mentioned in LMX8410LEVM user guide, you need to download the TICS Pro tool and follow the instruction as per below.

Once you set the all required fields, press "Ctrl+L". It will configure the device registers.

    Thanks!

  • Thank you Ajeet Pal, but I use SPI interface, to configure the registers in internal LO mode. In the user guide many registers are not good enough described how to be set.
Can you tell me how to configure the register in internal LO mode over SPI? Thank you!
    Best Regards,
    Iordan.

  • Hi Lordan,

If you want to change the LO frequency in internal LO mode, first I would suggest to load the default configuration file in TICS Pro and you can go in LO page and change the VCO frequency. Once you change the VCO frequency, it will update the PLL setting, like N-divider (PLL_N; R36), fractional parameters, etc.. Then to lock the PLL at the required frequency, click on the FCAL_EN. This will lock the PLL and LED D1 will glow.

Based on required LO (VCO or VCO/2) change x50 register through SPI.

If you want to see the internal LO output at LO_P/M connector, make R44[7] bit to 0. It will enable the LO output.

    Thanks!
