AFE7900: Need help to choose the appropriate configuration

Part Number: AFE7900

Hello Vijay,

thanks for your answer to my previous question.

Unfortunately, I was not able to see the attached picture. Could you please try to re-attach it ?

Also you mention in your message "Note that signal band of interest cannot cross Nyquist boundaries.".

with a Fs of 3 Gbps, my understanding is that Nyquist zones are [0 :1.5GHz] [1.5 : 3 GHz] [3 : 4.5 GHz], etc. I am right ?

What happens if we want to capture 1.4 to 1.6 GHz for example ?

Since the AFE7900 has independent channels, can we set-up each of the channels to a different Nyquist zone ?

Thanks & regards,

Florian.

  • Hi Florian,

Here is the image that Vijay shared previously.

The Nyquist zones that you show are correct. If you would like to capture a signal at 1.4 to 1.6GHz then you would have to change the Fs such that the Nyquist boundary is not within your band of interest. For example, if you change your Fs to 2.4GHz then the Nyquist boundary would be at 1.2GHz and you would be able to capture the 1.4 to 1.6GHz.

Each channel in the AFE can be set-up for a different Nyquist zone.
