Tool/software:
Hello support team,
I am looking for SDR ( software defined radio) that can be used to receive simultaneous 4 different GPS Bands ( L1 Band, L2 Band, L5 Band and S Band). I found AFE7900 has 4 independent Rx channels with independent NCO control for all 4 channels. this can be suitable for this. but below are the major concerns while considering AFE7900 in a GPS receiver applications.
1. As AFE7900 has 4 high speed ADC with 14 bit of resolution. theoritically, the dynamic range of the high speed ADC is 86 dB. but in practical scenario, dynamic range will be affected by SINAD and ENOB. Could you provide the practical dynamic range considering the factors affecting the same. as GPS signals would be very weak. I need to figure out the extra gain required before AFE7900 input so that it can detect minimum weakest GPS signals and provide IQ signals. Based on your response, I need to figure out the RF front end design.
2. Also, I have found the noise figure of
3. Could you provide any application note specific to AFE7900 that can be used for this kind of applications.
4. Could you suggest weather the use of AFE7900 be beneficial in this kind of application?
5. Also, we have used the same AFE7900 in lower band for instrumentation purpose with signal generator to measure amplitude and phase of the RF signals from signal generator. It is working proper. we are using it with ZCU102. for which I have a quick access for secure folder for TI JESD IP compatible to ZCU102. But for this new GPS application, I want to use it with ZC702. so could you provide the secure access with ZC702 TI JESD IP for AFE7900?
Awaited your quick response.
