Shared SPI bus of TRF3765 and TRF371125

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TRF371109, TRF3765, TRF371125, TRF3765EVM

In another question I saw that you answered that it is possible to share the SPI bus of the TRF3765 and TRF371109.

I use the TRF371125 so I guess its a similar situation.

My question: the TRF3765 digital interfaces use 3.3V, the TRF371125 digital interfaces use 5V, so how can they be used on the same bus? How to connect then to a 3.3V FPGA or Processor GPIO pins?

Thanks, Victor Koren

  • You can reference the SPI of both devices on the 3.3V supply. We utilize this approach for the EVMs. Reference the EVM schematics for the TRF3711EVM and the TRF3765EVM on the TI web. If you want to be very precise, you can introduce a level translator to convert 3.3V logic to 5V logic.
